"The Hyperreal War” is a project that focuses on Jean Baudrillard's theory about war as simulacrum. The Gulf War is famous to have been the first conflict broadcasted live 24/7. Since then, in according to Baudrillard, wars have become hyperreal and simulated not-realities where the boundaries between virtuality and reality are fade. Moreover, Baudrillard is provocative and perhaps ironic about how wars became staged not-events conveyed ad hoc by the mass-media. “The Hyperreal War”, also exploring the fascination and normalization of war, compares the mass-media contents with different kind of simulated conflicts that represent as well different layers of fake-war.
