Though these pictures I wanted to highlight the fantasy in day-to-day life of an Indian pregnant woman living in US away from her homeland. Ubiquity of ornamentation is one of the most compelling differences between India and the West. From the backs of buses and trucks to the spaces of humble doorways everything is bedecked with colors & painted symbols. Visual cacophony plays a great role in Indian life. This pervasive adornment of patterns, symbols and colors echoes in my work.
