Watching a wildebeest cross the Mara river was one of the most humbling experiences of my life. It is a sight I have not been able to keep out of my mind - hundreds of thousands of wildebeests congregating on the banks of the mighty Mara attempting to cross the river to reach the greener pastures on the other side. This daring attempt braving the challenges of the ferocious currents of the fast flowing river coupled with the lurking apex predators like the nile crocodiles and lions/leopards was unique. With dust clouds seen from miles away and the splashing of water heard from quite a distance, the entire scene is full of excitement and drama. It is quite difficult to capture all the chaos and confusion in a single image but I have tried to bring out a small aspect of this unique event here.
