Photographing arctic foxes in the wild is quite a challenge due to a plethora of reasons. I wanted to photograph the rarer blue morph species in their harsh winter environment. To photograph these miraculously tough animals, I went to the uninhabited Hornstrandir Nature Reserve in the very north of Iceland. Staying in a remote cabin for multiple days, through really tough wintry conditions, I was able to photograph these beautiful foxes during a snow storm. It was quite a challenge, to get the exposure and focus correctly due to the weather conditions and it was impossible to use the tripod either since the foxes were quite frisky and not stationary at all. I was finally able to capture my dream image as the fox covered in snow, stared straight at me making a fleeting eye contact during a blizzard.
