I like to think of this work as street photography inspired by shadow play. The shadow is replaced by the silhouette. The silhouette renders an image, a projection. The silhouette seems somehow abstract, free of matter, but also so vivid and fascinating. It appears to the viewer as a negative form, like a black hole. A dark vessel whose edge is defined and bounded by the background light, but whose interior is open to what the viewer chooses to see in it.
