There's been a significant Jewish community in Morocco for the past 2800 years, with as many as 300,000 in the 1940s. Since the 7th century they have lived within a Muslim nation. As dhimmi - a protected minority under the Islamic Principle of Tolerance - Jews flourished. Their exodus began after the creation of the state of Israel. Today, fewer than 4,000 remain. This project is a documentation of history and absence. It peers into the void that remains after this exodus, and is a retrospective of a time and place where Jews and Arabs lived peacefully as neighbours
