Story

"Straight from the Mini Bar" is photographed in high-end hotels during advertising shoots for those very hotels. Spending extended amounts of time in hotels and resorts all over the world and making a king room or meeting space or lobby look as shiny as it will ever look is draining. Room numbers start to blur, the room service menu reaches an unmatched level of boredom and the TV enters my circle of friends. This series is intended to describe my life during those shoots and to contrast the perfectly produced images created for the property.
The images are intentionally photographed in a raw, un-manicured style to keep me sane after meticulously polishing a room with lights, retouching and other tricks. They are an escape as well as an opportunity for me to photograph without rules. They tell a story of my time on the property, the moments of insanity and repetition. They show the real hotel; the way I perceive it.

These images are an escape, not from reality but to reality.
