Cities are built from the ground up. As they grow, they are combined in regular and irregular ways, mixing architectural styles from different eras. In this series I wanted to take the same principles that are used in the construction of the human created landscape to create these images. Photomontage lets me juxtapose objects that may not necessarily belong together, allowing me to extracting distinct objects and building a new landscape. I can create a new landscape vernacular. Just as the cityscape is a collage of different pasts these images are an assemblage of different parts and pieces.
