Simon Roberts was commissioned as the official election artist by the UK Parliament in 2010. His task was to provide an enduring and unique artistic response to the General Election. His attention focused on the relationship between the canvassing politicians and the voting public, recording the election 'theatre' taking place across the British landscape. Most of his photographs were taken from an elevated perspective behind the news media.
