Thereʼs a sense of quiet loyalty and dependability about a chair. In many ways it is seen as a personal signature of its occupant and every time Iʼve been drawn to one, thereʼs been an undeniable aura shrouding it . . . as though it holds to the brim, all secrets, stories and pains of its inhabitant . . . A kindred spirit from the natural world, who frequents my thoughts and dreams brought the wise chair into scenes I had seen and dreamed of . . . the chair belonged as if at home, with its occupantʼs presence permeating in spirit and imparting gentle messages from mother nature . . . Much of this work was born from seeing and obviously it is drawn from places where the mind wanders. It is an emotional response to what was felt, seen and understood. Above everything else, it seeks to transport the viewer to these places and their voices.
