Taken during a promotional shoot for the Lurline Chamber Orchestra in Sydney, Australia. Inspired by famous 20th century cellist Paul Tortelier's use of the bathroom for practise to make the sound bloom.
The famous French Cellist Paul Tortelier used to practise his cello in the bathroom to make his sound bloom. I was a cellist for most of my life, so when I was found this bathroom during a chamber orchestra promotional shoot I immediately thought of Tortelier's plight to be surrounded by the echoes of the bathroom walls. In a way it makes my life come full circle, from being a cellist to a photographer, shooting a cellist playing in the iconic bathroom.
