We live in a time when digital media tools create glamorous but fake, artificial representations of ‘the ideal’. This phenomenon is paired with such developments in science that it became possible to realize those representations in real life. Chemical, surgical or genetic interventions are becoming a fashion, a must if someone wants to succeed or feel satisfied. Through a series of self-portraits I investigate what we become when we follow these ideals and try to achieve them with all the available means. It is about the question of identity, the shifting relation between reality and representation, and power related issues.
