Part of a series that conceptualizes using taxidermy pieces as fashion accessories.
I am a 24 year old artist from Little Rock, AR. I graduated with a B.F.A in Photography from Savannah College of Art and Design in Spring 2010. I specialize in alternative processes and prefer to shoot with antique and film cameras. My work reflects a mixture of modern popular culture, humor, psychology, anthropology, the “natural world,” and historic fashion and culture. Inherently, I explore the human condition by questioning our social ideologies and worldviews through visual reference. I have been published in the student art publications CMYK (July 2008, Fall 2010, Winter 2011, Summer 2011) and American Photo On Campus (Nov/Dec 2009). I was runner up for "Best Image of 2009" in the student category on American Photo online. Since graduation, I was included as a top 50 finalist in Artists Wanted: EXPOSURE and Art Takes Miami. My work was also featured in this past year’s London International Creative Competition award book as a shortlist winner. Recently, I have been awarded 4th place in Photographer’s Forum’s Best of Photography 2011 competition. I am currently showing my work in both group and juried shows in galleries around the nation. My work can also be found in the permanent collection of Savannah College of Art and Design and The Center for Fine Art Photography. Right now, I am living in Nashville, TN with my boyfriend, Blake, and my dog, Dinah. Here I am working to save money for graduate school as well as improve my portfolio. In a few years, I hope to acquire a M.F.A. in New York City or Boston.
