Paso Yobai is a small town in Guaira, Paraguay. Their land hides a secret: gold In 2007 the canadian company "Latin American Minerals, Inc." bought "Paraguayan Mine", by agreement with the government of Paraguay. The company think Paso Yobai may contain one of the largest gold deposits of the world . The extraction work is kept secret, and so the volumes of gold extracted, negotiations with the government, etc. While the discovery of gold has increased prosperity in towm, has also brought a host of environmental problems, especially the remarkable mercury contamination of nearby rivers.
