This in-camera double-exposure of one of the few buildings left standing the day after the storm touched down in Joplin, Missouri was made by photographing a second exposure of the city’s radically altered skyline in an attempt to convey something of the haunting atmosphere of that day, the damage so vast and endless that any single image seemed incapable of capturing it.
