|About the Artist:
Marguerite Hossler began photographing with black and white film, developing and printing her own work. She used photography extensively in working on her degrees in Landscape Architecture at California State Polytechnic University in Pomona, California, using both film and video. When she moved by the ocean she discovered a landscape that seemed to demand color, and from then on has been working with color to a great extent.
She says I want my photographs to explore relationships other than the obvious--to have an ambiguous quality that challenges the viewer to see the familiar in a different way and to search for meaning in the image.
