Entry Description

The traditional standalone phone booth is fast becoming extinct. For most of us it is a cultural icon. I have featured these relics of the 20th century in a series of photographs shot at night to accentuate their rarity and their loneliness.

About Photographer

I have been a photographer for over 35 years, since the age of 9. I have studied with Ansel Adams, Jerry Uelsmann and Arthur Ollman who all shaped my vision and techniques in important ways. I have worked in the television industry in Hollywood for the last 30 years as an animator and designer; this has helped fine tune my skills as a photographer which is still a passionate hobby. I hope to be making images for the rest of my life.
