Email, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, blogs, and scores of others are new ways to connect with one another electronically. The planet has never been more interconnected, yet this interconnectedness, comes with a cost. We enjoy online relationships using social media sites like Face book and Twitter, but the difference between these kinds of interactions and interactions with people in the physical world is vast. Too much electronic-relating paradoxically engenders a sense of social isolation threatening to push us further apart, illustrating with all the powerful social technologies at our fingertips, we are more connected and potentially more disconnected than ever before.
My work is developed from research, and is constructed by means of created images with a suggestive narrative in response to a variety of issues shaped by our social, domestic, cultural and political environment.
