This series if from an ongoing project that I have been working on since 2007. These photos represent Arizona Cowpunchers, working cowboys from ranches in Arizona, and their families, some competing at the annual Cowpunchers Rodeo Reunion. The Arizona Cowpuncher's Reunion Association is a membership of working cowboys, their families, and close associates involved in the livestock industry.
Bev Pettit is an internationally published photographer specializing in equine, landscape and western lifestyle photography. Although she has lived, traveled and worked throughout Asia, Europe and South America, she always knew that her love of horses and the life of the American cowboy would draw her back to her adopted home of Arizona from her exotic travels and her native Minnesota. Pettit’s photographs have been seen in publications such as Arizona Highways, Nature Photographer, Cowboys & Indians, South African Sport Horse, Lenswork, B&W Magazine, Business Traveller Asia and Ranch & Reata to name a few. Her photographs grace the walls of collectors worldwide. In her spare time Bev enjoys hiking with her family and riding her horses on their ranch in Skull Valley, Arizona.
