I wait weeks for sunrises like this over the ocean, and it makes it all the more rewarding when it finally happens. This image was captured using a fisheye lens inside a 7” dome port and a hand held flash overhead to illuminate the foreground. The dome is submersed half way to capture both the above and below words as the rising sun colours the sky with fire.
I am an ocean photographer based on the South Coast, NSW Australia and I spend most of my time shooting waves, from either above or below the surface. I have been fortunate to have won a few international awards for my images, and have recently opened a gallery in my home town of Wollongong. I am obsessed with all facets of the ocean, in particular how water behaves when energy, motion and light are combined.
