Chris Reeve is an award winning people and location photographer. At just 9 years old he picked up his dad’s Russian Zenith camera and in that moment an all-consuming passion for photography was triggered. At 16, following a trekking holiday in the Lake District, Chris discovered a second passion that was to shape his life - the great outdoors. Expeditions to the Southern Patagonian Ice Cap of Chile, with Operation Rayleigh, and to the Great Wall of China swiftly followed. Chris made the most of every photographic opportunity these trips presented, earning a commission from leading London architects Pentar PLC as a result. By the age of just 20 he became Director of their internal photography business, Pinsharp Photography. This continual development of Chris’ creative and commercial skills resulted in a new business venture, Chris Reeve Photography. Coupled with training in graphic design, Chris was ideally placed to work with design and advertising agencies and in no time his studio had a loyal roster of blue chip clients in place. 2001 saw Chris join forces with friend and fellow photographer Clare Banks and together they formed Reevebanks Photography. For over a decade this highly successful partnership worked with a diverse range of clients; from St Andrew’s Hotel and Country Club through to construction firms such as Wates and ISG Cathedral. By 2013 the company had doubled in size, but as a first time mum Clare had new responsibilities and challenges to focus on. Re-launching Chris Reeve Photography was the next logical step and today Chris enjoys working with leading brands including Ford, iconic British sportswear brand Mitre, BT, Hutchison Whampoa, Fred. Olsen, Cambridge University and many more household names. His love of lighting techniques has led to a special relationship with premiere lighting manufacturer, Bowens International. Together they have won no less than 3 international photography awards, a Black and White Spider Award in New York and a Creative East Photographer of the Year Award. Chris lives in his hometown of Colchester, Essex, with his wife Rachel and son George. His passion for people, travel, creativity and kit knows no bounds and sees Chris working across Europe and the UK.
