I don't normally shoot corporate content but this assignment had a cool looking, high-tech/industrial location attached to it which I found irresistible. My aim was to illustrate the enormity as well as complexity of the refinery, put to scale from a human perspective. I took this photograph at dawn. Carrying the gear to the top of the structure in merciless summer heat of the UAE was no fun, I assure you. I positioned the camera on a tripod very carefully in order to maximize the depth in the scene and to expose the leading lines. I snapped 5 bracketed exposures which formed my HDR background. I took another, flash-lit single exposure of a walking plant Engineer. When he was in the right place and moving at the right speed, I took my shot. I took many shots before I found just the right balance of natural and artificial lighting. Post production involved dynamic blending which seamlessly fused both photographs into the final shot.
