This documentary project is set in the landscape of the New Forest; an ancient woodland in the South of England. The project is about the ancient tradition of the New Forest Drift, which happens between the end of summer and the end of autumn. It is when commoners (individuals with the right to graze livestock in the forest), guide the free-roaming New Forest ponies by horse to then check they are healthy and able to stay in the forest, contributing to the forest's ecological health. Beyond its ecological importance, it is a cultural cornerstone for commoner's connection to the land.
