During a photographic trip to Namibia during May 2025, our group visited Sossusvlei, a salt and clay pan surrounded by high red sand dunes, located in the Namib Desert in the Namib-Naukluft National Park. Given the photographic potential of infrared photography in this area, I used an infrared filter on my full spectrum Canon EOS R5 to capture this shot of one of the dunes with a solitary tree at its base. The photograph was taken late in the afternoon when the sunlight created interesting lines and highlighted textures on the surface of the dune and surrounding area.
