Mokompo lives in Kenya's remote Loita Hills. He is one of the last, and the most important, of the Maasai loiban. A loiban is a vision seeker and traditionally they were among the most important members of the Maasai community. Today, with the culture and attitudes changing, their role in society is much reduced.
