American Jesus: In the land of the free anyone can be whom they imagine themselves to be. You can even be Jesus for a day. This series of images was created working in a portable studio setup alongside an Easter celebration in San Francisco's Dolores Park. We met and photographed some straight up Jesus impersonators as well as some re-inventors including Mormon Jesus and Hawaiian Jesus. The project was conceived as an exploration into human behavior through portraiture as well as a self-promotion piece for my real-people photography practice.
