This series of Dungeness Kent, I hope captures something of the spiritual and transcendental nature of this remote coastal community and explores the dialogue between the attraction and peculiar, seduction and uneasiness. And touches upon a landscape which speaks of both labour and pleasure, nature and culture. ‘An entropic terrain’ where what is built is merged with what is unbuilt, and the idea of an environment which through generations has been harnessed and channelled to make human infrastructures that insulate and provide for the community.
