The series belongs to a long term project based on the lives of the Cham Muslims, representing a wedding in which the bride was a former Buddhist, a prayer before a Phnom Penh Mosque, a Muslim woman wearing her Niqab while buying food at the same market where Buddhist monks do, a mixed Cham Muslim school and a woman observing the Cham Muslim casualties that took place during the Khmer Rouge war at the Tuol Sleng museum. The Chams constitute an ethnic group from the South of Asia descending from the former Kingdom of Champa, dating from 875 AD and with a historically strong Hindu influence. They represent one of the many Muslim communities which live peacefully throughout South East Asia. They coexist among Buddhists, Christians and animists, and throughout the Khmer Rouge period in Cambodia many were exterminated by the regime, along with members of other religions.
