Series of photographs taken during 3 years of the Thaipusam event in Singapore. The devotes have the face, cheeks and tongue pierced by long spears of metal, which represent the Vel "a divine spear" donated by Parvati Murugan to defeat the demon. The Thaipusam is the celebration of this victory.
