Hiwatarishiki (Fire Walking Ritual) is held every year on the 3rd of November (Culture Day) by monks of the Daiganji Temple at Miyajima (Japan). This impressive ritual, especially meant for purification, takes place in the forecourt of Daiganji Temple in front of the Gomadou Hall, seat of the guardian deity Fudoumyoo. As a photographer I documented this event in 2016.
