Surrogacy is a wonderful means for couples suffering infertility to have a child of their own. In Australia, it is altruistic meaning that the surrogate volunteers to carry the baby without any compensation outside of the costs of pregnancy (e.g. medical bills). Sometimes a family member will carry the baby. In this emotive birth image series, a grandmother gives birth to her own grandson - delivering a baby for her daughter, who had gone through gruesome leukemia treatment as a child. The bond between the mother and her daughter is evident and the beautiful result of the surrogacy, a baby boy, is the wonderful outcome of this special moment.
