Resonance #20140329 Reed, River Maas. This nearly abstract scenery shows the organic harmony of nature, gentle and elegant but also strong and buoyant. The instant light touches earthly matter, and the manner in which, can give something ordinary and inconspicuous a sudden, fleeting beauty. There is something both vulnerable and powerful in this. To me light is both a tangible and evanescent medium, if not a language. By fading, moulding and carving the light in my photographs, I try to transform reality and move into an imaginative and intuitive realm. My process involves composing layered images that nearly look like drawings, scraping off the innate realism that is part of photography, thus creating a twilight zone that enables me, and the viewer, to traverse into a more sensorial and subliminal world.
