I took these pictures in the Tatras – between Slovakia and Poland. From years I’ve haunted for a strange weather, I wanted to show the greatness and powerty of mountain nature in unique way. Specially, I like a view of small, human silhouettes against big space and mountain chains. There aren’t many people with the strange weather, so if I perceive anyone – I’m waitng for him. Sometimes, before he reaches place required by me, I ‘m waiting for an hour or more. Usually I spend about 12 hours per day on the mountain track – it’s enough for good hunting.

Story

For Poles, since ever, the Tatra Mountains are symbol of freedom, independent spirits and strong character. There is, also, a place induced to profound reflection and overcome a fault. The Tatra Mountains housed members of Resistance during German (II World War) and Soviet annexation (II World War and after). Also for pope John Paul II Tatras were stamping ground for relax and meditation. Nowadays, for me and many Poles, Tatras still are the most favourite place for escape from hard reality and searching spirituality. I think, the Tatras - and all other mountains - are the best metaphor of life. We are climbing up and the only one careless step can be a tragedy – both in the mountains and life. But sometimes, even if we are rambling in the fog, we could find the right way. Tribute to casualties of Smolensk Plane Aircrash, 10.04.2010, in the fog.
