The purpose of these photographs is to help my fellow Americans “see” and understand the beauty that is all around us, hiding in plain sight. Through photography, and by using the various objects as metaphors I help draw out the hidden integrity and passions embodied in my volunteer subjects. That the final pictures are a joy to see and discover all that lies under the surface is only half the adventure, the real treasure is buried inside of the photograph and is visible by realizing the nobility of character embodied by my volunteer subjects, to reveal their passions.
