The fluorescent turquoise dots on the skin of the mudskippers give them the Chinese nickname ?the hopper with flower-like patterns? or ?the hopper with star-like patterns?. It?s a rare sight to capture this photo since the mudskippers are usually crawling on the ground; when the mudskipper?s territory is invaded, it would leap into the mid-air, raise its dorsal fins, and have its mouth wide-opened to scare off the invaders. This photo was taken in Xucuogang Wetland, Taoyuan, Taiwan.
