“Without memories I am no one.” –Grace Falzone, March 2009. Grace, 82, is a victim of Alzheimers disease. Her brother, Joe, her only sibling living in the U.S. has been her sole caregiver since her symptoms began several years ago. Grace still lives alone and relies on her brother’s daily visits for food, medicine and most importantly, companionship. After living independently for most of her life, and caring for her parents, she will be moving in with her brother this year. Joe refuses to consider a nursing home for his sister’s care.
