From 2020 the region in which Adwa is located, Tigray, has been going a bloody civil war. I don't know what the fate of these women and children has been but human rights were already violated in 2019. The 14,9% of Ethiopia population has a criminal record and the 4,2% of it are women. The Ethiopian government allocates 0.18$ per prisoner per day. About 500 children live with this 4,2% inside the prisons, forced to follow their mothers behind bars, without an appropriate access to education, health care or infrastructure where to play.
