We have a Camellia in our garden which produces these beautiful, large flowers in early spring every year. For this photo, I arranged the blooms so that they filled the frame, inspired by Georgia O’Keeffe’s Oriental Poppies painting. I increased the contrast and saturation of the colours in the image to emphasise the shape of the petals, as well as their veins of colours and their texture.
