Photographer, Martyn Aim, spent four months travelling along the line of contact, visiting Ukrainian army positions and heavily shelled and damaged villages. What he found was a fractured country, where people are trapped between Ukraine and Russia’s fight for hearts and minds; continuing a decades old geopolitical battle fuelled by poisonous propaganda on both sides. As hostilities between Ukraine and Russia on the Azov Sea erupt a bitter winter begins for the people of east Ukraine. There is no resolution for peace in sight.
