The Longest Way Home - Deeper Perspective
This is the story about history's deep scars. And of a possible, if difficult, reconciliation. It is also a story of deep survival. In April 2022 it was quite something to see Indigenous Canadians, proud in their costumes, under Bernini's colonnade at the Vatican waiting to meet the Pope. When the impressive monument was being built, in 1600, their colonial catastrophe was starting. It was also quite something to see the old Pope, in deep pain for a troubled knee, travelling to Canada's desolate plains, to the Arctic frontier, to the sacred lakes, to the ancestral lands to say: 'I am sorry''

Biography
Antonio Denti is an award-winning news cameraman, in love with still photography.
He graduated as an anthropologist in London, but became a news cameraman.
He has been working for Reuters, based in Rome, since 1998.
He covered - among other things - conflict and change in Kosovo (1999, 2001, 2008), Afghanistan (2001), Iraq (2003), Israel (2005 - 2006), Gaza (2005), Lebanon (2006), Tunisia (2011), Catalonia (2017), the aftermath of the Asian Tsunami in Banda Aceh (2004), the death of Pope John Paul II, several papal trips, the great migration to Europe by sea and by land (2006-2018).
