Attending a small village in Turkey for my sister’s wedding with 1000 people expected had me assuming I would just be one in a crowd. Language barriers amongst a group of people who have rapport & familial bonds, mixed with social anxiety would get in the way. What actually happened was so unexpected & special that I find myself different than before I left. I was welcomed in completely & graciously. I’m honoured to have been not just included but integrated, & a part of the wedding, the process, the family. I don’t have the words to describe how moved I am by what transpired in Ibriktepe.
