'Without water, we die' is an ongoing visual representation of Somalia's growing climate crisis in a country ravaged by violence and suffering. The deadly unrest in the arid, scorched interior has decimated rural living, with millions of livestock dead and farms empty. In January 2023, after a fifth consecutive failed rainy season, the country is already in its longest drought in recorded history. For those in the rural regions of Somalia today, this is a disaster of unprecedented magnitude, with famine a deadly reality in 2023.
