By nature, flowers are ephemeral, radical expressions of life itself, blooming then dying. Perhaps it is this quality that motivates me to capture them during a strange unprecedented time, when finding escape from the modern digital anxieties reminds us we are still alive. Shot on film, this story is a feverish and playful exploration of our relationship to nature, bringing the outside in. Drawing on the romanticized, sensory works of Monet, a landscape is created from printed and cultivated flowers to the point of abstraction.
