Based on the true story of my grandmother, the attached video provides further information into this sad story. The conflict between the Cossacks and the Jews is two generations back from me yet the effects are ongoing and endless. The loss of a parent through war and persecution creates generational trauma. My daughter bares the name of my grandmother and is the model in this photograph. The irony is if her father was not killed she she may not have fled to America where she met my grandfather and her story continues. How are we supposed to view these tragic conflicts?
