In 2013, there were the beginnings of hope in some parts of Myanmar. You could sense that some were starting to breathe just a bit easier. In 2011 the junta again seized power and in massive demonstrations, unarmed peaceful protesters were slaughtered. Ten years after photos were taken of these marvelous kids, I wondered where they are now. In this series, diptychs juxtapose 2013 images with photographs of 2023 words from today’s resistance fighters that were manually typed onto the faded pages of an old, faded Myanmar book. Photographs of typed pages are shown as negative images.
