A photograph should always be born of the mind, the heart, and the soul, as Henri Cartier-Bresson maintained. An idea which becomes an image by means of a technical instrument, the camera, and a series of conscious choices, both technical and aesthetic, which at the moment of the shutter release work together to create the image, exactly as the photographer intended. The aim of this book is to show that it is still possible to create a different kind of photograph, one produced with thought and reason.
