The Jiujia iron wok technique in Jixi County originated in the late Qing Dynasty when Mr Hu Runtang, an old Huizhou merchant, founded the Jiujia Wok Factory in the village of Jiujia in Jixi County, which has been in operation for more than 100 years, has been producing iron woks, tea chords, tea pots and billet pots with traditional techniques by hand , and is widely used throughout the old Huizhou region and even today in Changhua, Yuyao, Jiande in Zhejiang and Ningguo in Anhui.The Jiujia iron woks were so influential that they were called "Jiujia woks" after the name of the village.
