Feminine identity cannot be understood as something fixed or universal. The term acts as a vast white screen projecting an endless chain of constructions and fantasies based on patriarchal structures, feminist resistance, media influence, etc. Full of myths and controversies, it is a challenging space to navigate; the space where traditional values and contemporary concepts are closely entwined, rubbing against each other. Self-identity is an underlying factor when engaging with these constructions and fantasies; thus, contesting and adopting some of their elements allows this journey to be a profoundly personal experience.
Embracing and honoring the contingent and dynamic nature of feminine identity, the series is not meant to be an exhaustive catalog, rather it is a creative attempt to frame an elusive and complex nature of feminine identity at the level of a public space.
