In Myanmar, 1.13 million children are forced to work because their families cannot afford to send the smallest members of the household to a public school. Families are forced to make a decision about their children's future: abandon them in a Buddhist monastery so they can have an education, or raise their children in extreme poverty with no access to education.That is the reason why 60% of the monks in the country are children.
