Just over 500 days ago on February 24th, Russia invaded Ukraine. That is 500 days of extreme human suffering, impacting every element of Ukrainian society. Thousands of civilians have been killed and wounded, and countless others, many who volunteered are living through daily bombardment and violence that in many instances amount to war crimes. Entire neighbourhoods and cities have been destroyed. This series of images show the emotions behind the human cost of this conflict. The sacrifice and bravery of people enduring the unimaginable.
